Jeannie McArthur had a long and brilliant career in fashion, notably with Issey Miyake. About a decade ago she decided to create her own clothing and textile label, NJK Collection.
Manufacturing in India with the most talented artisans, she has explored and further expanded their handcraft skills by mixing rare vintage prints, kimono designs and indigo weavings to create a unique and very desirable cross cultural effect. Jeannie’s work has become a true expression of her two cultural passions, Japan and India, and combined with her love of vintage markets where she finds treasures such as 60’s prints and tribal clothes to incorporate into her designs.
She works on each piece individually, playing with textural combinations, developing different khanta stitches and displaying her ‘quixotic eye’ for colour and pattern along with her meticulous demand for quality and detail.
