Yaku Murakami

Yaku Murakami has been one of the most popular potters in Japan for more than a decade. His pieces are simple, modern and include elements of wabi-sabi – embracing the beauty of the imperfect. Throughout his career, Yaku Murakami has hand-built his ceramics. He believes this method is best suited to create bowls that have a sense of ambiguity and that combine contrasting elements: be that heaviness and lightness, tension and laxation.
